Look out guys, women are stepping up to the plate and creating success in their own way on the internet. How do I know? Because I help these wonder-women create successful, money-making websites and I see it happening right before my eyes on a daily basis.
Women might do it differently, however this doesn't mean they do it wrong, and I say Viva la Difference! Just by using all the skills that make them female these girls are creating a buzz and a splash like never before and taking the internet by storm. Women are great at creating relationships, and appealing to others emotions, getting creative and women trust other women. These skills, talents and gifts are stirring a wave of change on the face of the internet and websites are getting face-lifts and a new attitude as women make their mark in the entrepreneurial world of internet marketing.
The women I am privileged to work with are willing to take chances and go the extra mile and the men need to watch out or the next internet millionaire just might be a woman! Or perhaps a partnership of women, because that's another area women excel at! Partnering with another woman or women so that their skill-set is complete with little or no competition between them.
I love that I am in a position to teach and guide and yes, learn from these ladies and watch them grow as they realize how easy it can be to become successful. The internet is a great strategy for many women, especially after they have had children. It means they do not have to give up their life to become mothers unless they want to, it is the power of choice. The internet means that women can have it all, because the internet means they can work from the comfort of their own home.
What do women need to know most about owning a website? That they can do it and do it successfully, the rest is easy. Websites are a little like children, they need constant attention, they need to be allowed to grow and explore different ideas and they need to be allowed to take on new responsibilities. If you know how to parent then you will be a great website owner.
How about I explain what I mean?
Websites need constant attention: a website cannot ever be too static, at least not until it is really well established and this means writing articles, press releases, blogging and most of all getting great content and adding to it regularly. This can be done by yourself or you can take on a partner who loves writing and let them do it.
Websites need to be allowed to grow and explore: owning a website means you will have to try out your marketing ideas and see if they work, dress the website in different ways, or change the layout or even sometimes the focus until you find what brings your customers and clients and keeps them their to purchase or to use your services.
Websites need to be allowed to take on new responsibilities: websites often become stagnant if not updated or allow to add on new areas, it can become of real importance to find out what is being searched (a keyword or 'searchable term'), to find out what is 'hot' in the market and keep your website relevant. It's a bit like making sure you have what is in fashion in your storefront window, no point having last years fashions when every one is wearing and buying something else.
Calling all those women out their who are toying with the idea of starting a website, you can do it, you may have to learn a few skills or take on a partner or both, but what an adventure and remember: "sisters are doin' it for themselves."
